Brandy…’I had thoughts of suicide’
Singer fights through emotional battle after car accident kills innocent driver.
Brandy’s life in the public eye has made for good celebrity drama. In 2001, she was secretly “married” to producer Robert “Big Bert” Smith and soon announced that she was pregnant.
However, the couple “divorced” after she gave birth and their union was exposed to be a fraud. Then in 2004, Brandy had a high-profile engagement to NBA star Quentin Richardson, which dissolved in 2005.
After that, Brandy was involved in a car accident that claimed a woman’s life and she is now facing a $50 million wrongful death lawsuit set to go to trial this April.
In a recent interview Brandy confessed, “It was a very difficult time in my life,” Brandy said of dealing with the fatal accident. “I had thoughts of suicide, but tried to push through it as much as possible with having family and friends.”
Brandy’s new album, which is appropriately entitled ‘Human’, has received rave reviews. The album is a reflection of her life during turbulent times and as Brandy stated, “I journaled a lot. I had to get in touch with the strength and the faith that is in me and I had to realize that that’s what I needed to get through it.”
The album is said to be “a true testament to her strength and resolve” and can be found in I-tunes or a music store near you.
