Celebrities pay $50,000 for Obama inauguration ticket
Obama tickets most expensive event ever.
Celebrities have paid big money with hopes to attend Barack Obama’s inauguration ceremony next month.
Island DefJam’s L.A. Reid has paid $50,000; Magic Johnson paid $25,000; Steve Ballmer CEO, of Microsoft, added $100,000; tech billionaire Rick Aversano, $50,000; and add to the list also as the ‘That 70s Show’ creators Bonnie and Terry Turner ($100,000).
Although the money is considered a “donation” many critics believe it to be “a one-way ticket to the White House”.
Notable and vocal supporter Oprah Winfrey has not disclosed her donation amount, but it is believe to be more than $1 million.
Oprah is the largest donor but so far Halle Berry, Sharon Stone, Steven Spielberg and Tom Hanks have each paid $50,000 to attend the ceremony. Also contributing $50,000, are Jamie Lee Curtis , Ron Howard, Samuel L. Jackson, and Jamie Foxx.
