    i appreciate kanye’s newfound perspective on gay men. he took a risk in the hip hop community acknowledging the ongoing paradoxical demonization & humanity of gay men, yet he doesn’t speak to the manhood anxiety issues unaddressed by african-descended men. the word gay was adopted by a few white male homosexuals in the 50’s. their impending & very successful movement – exclusive of women & otha sgl african-descended folk – led to the economic & political power they neva intended to share with anyone outside their rainbow. the division he cites between gay & str8 men are symptomatic of manifest destiny.

    It’s About time. We (SGL) need a gay/straight alliance to become ONE world.

    I came out of the closet a few months after rapper B I G died; it cost me some of the hottest traxz in hip hop history… yessir… But I would do it all again the same way… because at the end of the day, I am proud to be black and gay (or sgl if so desired).
