R. Kelly’s forces gag order on ex-wife in divorce settlement
R&B crooner requires ex-wife to keep mouth shut about marriage details.
R. Kelly is single again after an 11 years tumultuous marriage, and ex-wife Andrea Kelly is reportedly required to keep the details of the marriage in the past.
According to a close friend of Andrea, “She wouldn’t tell me nothing at all. Which is crazy because she usually tells me everything. The only thing she said is that she can never tell me…never…no matter what”.
A celebrity divorce attorney described the agreement reached by the couple as “an iron-clad gag order with stipulations”. Basically, any benefits Andrea was awarded in the settlement may be retracted if it’s proven that she spoke about the details of the settlement or the marriage.
Several blog sites reported R. Kelly parted with at least $50 million during the settlement, which many believe to be a more than fair amount considering Andrea endured multiple child pornography trials, reported physical abuse, harassment and stalking.
According to a lawyer statement, “The couple will share joint custody of their three children,” and R. Kelly is expected to continue his involvement in their children’s lives.
