Rihanna does first performance after all
RIHANNA marked her return to the spotlight on Monday with a surprise performance alongside pal KANYE WEST at New York’s Costume Institute Gala.
The Umbrella beauty stunned onlookers when she hit the red carpet at the Metropolitan Museum of Art’s glitzy event - her first official public appearance since her February bust-up with ex-boyfriend Chris Brown.
But she had another shocker in store for the A-list partygoers - she hit the stage to join rapper West for two special collaborations.
A source tells Eonline.com’s Marc Malkin, "Kanye asked her to do it. It was his idea, but (Vogue editor and event organizer) Anna Wintour obviously had to approve it. Anna was at the run-through during the day and was so into it."
The show was Rihanna’s first live performance since the 8 February incident, for which Brown is facing two felony charges.
She was due to make her pop comeback at a gig in Dubai later this month, but she scrapped the concert earlier on Monday citing "bad timing".

We know Kanye wanted to be able to say he performed with Rihanna first…typical Kanye ego move.
