Why Beyonce sister Solange is insecure
Solange Knowles hates the way she looks when she sings.
The 23-year-old singer - sister of ‘Halo’ star Beyonce - stopped halfway through her performance at the Essence Music Festival in New Orleans last weekend and demanded a paparazzo stop taking photos of her.
As the audience looked on in amazement, Solange shouted: "Mr. Photographer, you are making me self-conscious. I swear I make the same stupid three faces over and over again, so please leave me be."
The singer has been camera shy since she collapsed at an airport in February after accidentally overdosing on cough medicine during a flight.
She was rushed to hospital where she quickly recovered, but was left humiliated by a series of garbled messages she posted on her Twitter account during the ordeal.
Her first post on the social networking website read: "I took a nyquil and i think maybe im getting high off it because im not sleeping. maybe i should close my eyes before these twits are bananas."
This was followed by: "think im certified loosing it on nyquil. going to sleep before i start freestyling on the plane.
"omg i didnt know nyquil could do this to you.i took the pills tho.cant stomach cough syrup.trying to be proactive on this flight."
